The Earl McGrath Gallery began as a commercial gallery space by art dealer and former record industry veteran Earl McGrath in 1983. The gallery was closed to the public in 1995 while an additional space in New York was opened. The gallery was re-opened under the Earl McGrath Gallery banner in 2002 with an important show of works from the late 1950's by celebrated architect Richard Neutra in 2002.
The Earl McGrath Gallery gallery has mounted exhibitions with artworks by Robert Graham, Bruce Nauman, Brice Marden, Mark Ryden, Josh Agle, Eric White, Tobias Keene, Jeff Kowatch, Eric Goulder, Joe Andoe, Elliott Puckette, Alex Gross, Chuck Agro, Mark Stock, Andrew Foster, Vincenzo Amato, Nathan Spoor, Tim Street-Porter, Gary Baseman, the Clayton Brothers and Patrick McMullan among others.
Dane Jensen joined the Earl McGrath Gallery as Gallery Director in 2003 for the "Raising the Brow" exhibition, a seminal show in the international Pop Surrealism movement.
